Elder Bertha Ashear
Bertha Ashear has been married for 21 years. She is blessed with two biological children and together with her husband they have raised 10 foster children who have been successfully reunified with their biological families. Bertha is a qualified High School Teacher and Social Worker registered with the Council of Social Services in South Africa. Bertha is certified and accredited International Values-Based Leadership Facilitator. Currently, Bertha is working towards a Masters degree in Child Protection and Family Matters. She is a Life Coach, Wellness Coach, Parent, and family coach, Mentor, Trauma Incident Reduction Counselor for children and adults, she is also an HIV /AIDS Counselor, Marriage and Family Counselor Bertha is the Executive Director of Dare to Rise, a company that focuses on Life Coaching, Marriage and Parent Coaching, equipping and building individuals, families, and communities to rise above their limitations, maximize their potential, and achieve their goals. She is a Programmes Manager for Rays of Hope, an NGO working with families, Orphaned and Vulnerable children in Alexandra township in South Africa where she has initiated and started support groups for teenagers, teen moms, and pregnant teens. She is a member of the Child Rights Network of Southern Africa, a network that seeks to protect and advocate for the rights of children in SADC Countries. Bertha also serves on the South African National Child Rights Coalition Committees for communication and policy monitoring. Her passion is to mentor and coach young girls and women to become independent and maximize their potential.
